Refunds and Withdrawals

Notice of withdrawal must be made in writing and is effective upon receipt by the registrar. Written notice may be made by fax (503-294-0874), e-mail (classes@nwfilm.org), or in person during regular business hours. Telephone withdrawals will not be accepted. Class instructors may not be notified in place of the registrar. Withdrawal by mail is not encouraged due to possible delivery delays. Please note that fax or e-mail withdrawals received after 5 p.m. will be considered to have arrived the next business day.

The refund schedule is as follows:

30 or more days before the first class 90% Refund
15-29 days before the first class 50% Refund
0-14 days before the first class No Refund Available

Class Cancellation
If minimum class enrollment is not met, students will be notified by phone and a 100 percent refund will be made. All refunds are issued by mail and may take up to 30 days to process. For more information, contact the registrar at 503-221-1156 x25.

Absence at the first class meeting does not extend the withdrawal deadline or alter the refund amount or entitle the student to a tuition credit.

No Drop Policy Option
When classes or workshops are under enrolled, in lieu of canceling the class, the Film Center may opt to proceed on a No Drop Basis. Students are notified of the change to No Drop status during business hours by telephone. Once notification is made, withdrawal privileges (above) remain in effect for the next 24 hours. No refunds are made after this time and the class is held as announced. If sufficient registration is not maintained at the end of the 24 hours, the class may be canceled and 100% refunds made.

It is a student responsibility to notify the Film Center of address and number changes that occur after registration. The Film Center will not make exceptions to these policies if outdated student information is on file.
