legacy through thematic series, special retrospectives, and
director showcases.
ENGAGE THE
FUTURE

Meet the film and video makers who shape the visions of today
and tomorrow. MAKE
NEW VISIONARIES
In addition to great film-going, Silver Screen Club subscription
helps support the education and outreach programs of the Northwest
Film Center. This includes the Center's School of Film and the Young
Filmmakers Program for Kids + Teens which places professional media
artists in school and community settings throughout Oregon. These
programs provide hands-on learning experience in film, video and
animation; intensive teacher workshops in moving-image media; and
the annual Young People's Film & Video Festival which encourages
the work of young media makers and viewers from elementary to high
school.
SUPPORT THE MISSION
The Northwest Film Center is a regional media arts resource
and service organization founded to encourage the study, appreciation
and utilization of the moving-image arts, foster their artistic
and professional excellence, and to help create a climate
in which they may flourish.
EXPLORE THE WORLD
Savor the sights and sounds of six continents as the popular
PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL unreels 100 new films
each February. Get to know your neighbors with November's
annual Northwest Film & Video Festival.
INVESTIGATE OUR
TIMES

arts, political and social issues, and the spirit of our region,
the Center offers diverse works distinguished by their creativity,
audacity, and independent spirit.
The Northwest Film Center is supported in part by the
National Endowment for the Arts, Oregon Arts Commission, Regional
