The second part (after Honey for Oshun) of a planned trilogy, Barrio Cuba strips away touristic stereotypes to pay tribute to life in the slums of Havana's suburbs. Magalis, Ignacio, Vivian, Miguelito and Santo are some of the characters that live in Barrio Cuba. They are people looking for their share of happiness, hurrying through life, rebelling against an uncertain destiny and trying again and again to find a better life. Though reality is harsh, an almost mystical hope for a better future, and perhaps true love, cannot be stampeded out. ( 105 min )
