Seats for advance ticket and pass holders are held until 10 minutes before showtime,
when any unfilled seats are released to the public. Thus, advance tickets or passes
ensure that you will not have to wait in the ticket purchase line but do not guarantee
a seat in the case of arrival after the 10-minute window has begun. Your early arrival
also helps get screenings started promptly. We appreciate your understanding. Advance
ticket holders who arrive within the 10-minute window but are not seated may exchange
their tickets for another screening at the Ticket Outlet or obtain a cash refund at
the theater. There are no refunds or exchanges for late arrivals or for missed screenings.
DIRECTOR: CRISTIAN NEMESCU
ROMANIA
Writer-director Cristian Nemescu died in a car crash while this film was in post-production. Onscreen, his keen political vision is alive and well in a comedic story inspired by a true event: During the war in Kosovo in 1999, a NATO train on a classified mission is literally stopped in its tracks by a Romanian station master with his own agenda. As the U.S. lieutenant faces off against the station agent, the rest of the village goes berserk, NATO soldiers eye the eager local girls, and the casualties of war reveal themselves to be, as always, too close to home. Nemescu's social farce was the winner of the Un Certain Regard prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Print courtesy of MediaPro Distribution. ( 155 min )

DIRECTOR: CRISTIAN MUNGIU
ROMANIA
This year's Romanian submission for the Best Foreign Film Oscar, and the Winner of the Palm d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, writer/director Cristian Mungiu's emotionally shattering film manages to be political without a single conventional reference to politics. It is 1987, near the end of the Ceausescu era in Romania, and college roommates Otilia and Gabita live in fear and oppression. Gabita is pregnant, and together they prepare to meet with a cruel abortionist who asks them for more than money in return for his dangerous and illegal procedure. Their story, set against this false and infectious political system, offers an unforgettable lesson in the price repression exerts from the soul. Also the winner of the the European Film Awards for Best Film and Best Director. Print courtesy of IFC Films. ( 113 min )
Filmography: Occident (03), Lost and Found (05).
