Today’s HD digital video technology makes it easier than ever to utilize the moving image as a powerful communications tool. Whether you want to energize your company press room with fresh video content, promote a particular project, or simply keep yourself current as a business professional, this class teaches individuals with little or no previous experience how to plan, write, light, shoot, edit, and post short video programs which support workplace needs. These include behind-the-scenes profiles, testimonials, documentation of events, and programs which foster employee training and internal communication. Everything you need is provided: scripts to practice with, camera and editing equipment for use in class, and classmates who will crew with you to project completion. The pace will be fast as the basics are laid out and projects progress from week to week. Topics also include: how to keep a script on message, conducting effective interviews, setting up an effective in-house video workflow, and preparing finished productions for use in PowerPoint presentations, online streaming, and mobile platforms. Outside time is not required, as projects can be completed during class meeting time. The goal is for participants to have the confidence to proceed on their own once the course ends. Tuition includes two days of free digital video camera rental for use anytime before July 1, 2012 (valued at $350, subject to availability).
