Learn to use the Film Center’s Canon and Minolta Super-8mm cameras and shoot in the classic home movie format which enthusiasts value for its affordability and celluloid qualities. Emphasis will be on loading, exposure, light meter techniques, film stocks, lenses, and troubleshooting. Handling of the cameras will be extensive on the first day. Participants will then have a week to shoot a roll on their own and return it for processing and transfer to DVD (as a Quicktime file). The second session will review and critique the footage. Tuition includes camera use, one roll of film and processing, and transfer.
