RED TROUSERS:
THE LIFE OF THE HONG KONG STUNTMAN |
Robin Shou |
A body drops from the third floor and hits
the roof of an ambulance; a car crashes into a motorcycle
sending the motorcyclist into the air; a man is kicked in
the head, chest and stomach and sent flying through a wall.
Although all true feats of danger and physicality, the bodies
that do the slamming, banging and crashing are often unacknowledged
in the world of film. Popular action actor Robin Shou (Mortal
Kombat) addresses the oversight with the fascinating Red Trousers,
named after the term used for young acrobats in the Beijing
Opera, which skillfully surveys the action-packed history
of the martial arts and the world of Hong Kong stuntmen, while
following the production of stunt scenes being filmed for
a new action picture. (92 mins.) Filmography:
Lost Time: The Movie (01).
SHOWTIMES: 2/14, 4pm and 2/15,
