Make It Short
A 40-Second Film Competition

Make it sad. Make it funny. Make it terrifying. Make it 40 seconds.

To celebrate the Film Center's 40th anniversary, we invite Northwest filmmakers to enter the MAKE IT SHORT film contest. No matter what genre or format—narrative, documentary, experimental, animation, 16mm, camera phone, DSLR—we want to see it, but keep it short: 40 seconds or less.

Compete in either two categories: a General Category (ages 19 and older) or Youth Category (ages 18 and younger). Both individuals and groups can enter. In addition to cash prizes and production services awards, the grand prize winner will see their film screen at the Portland International Film Festival in February. There will be an audience choice screening and judging on January 17, 2012 to determine the winners.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: JANUARY 6, 2012 (postmarked)

Kurtis Hough's MAKE IT SHORT entry has already received more than a million views.

Watch his film and get inspired to make one yourself!
